June 2006 was a very warm month, as can be seen from the number of people enjoying the sunshine on the beach, meanwhile FM Rail's 47832 blasts up the bank with a Nenta Rail tour from Norwich to Kingswear |

During the busy Summer season, additional HSTs to London are run from Paignton, and Newquay. Back when everything was in 'Barbie' livery and had arguably more comfortable seats, an HST passes Hollicombe in Paignton with the morning 'Torbay Express' |

2006 saw the commencement of the First Great Western
franchise, to mark this occasion a First Scotrail 158 was loaned for a
number of months. It became popular in the region for having First Class
seating and was affectionately named 'Morag'!!
Along with a hired 158 from Central Trains, it is seen in Exeter TMD on another warm day |

On the first of June, the Royal train was seen transporting the royals through the county. 67005 and 67006 have the task of conveying the Royal train, seen here at Langstone Rock, Dawlish |

During June, if my memory serves me correctly, the Devon branches were toured by 37411 and a Steam engine, 37411 is seen bringing the stock into Exeter St Davids in the last of the evening light |

During the annual South Devon Railway Diesel gala, 37314 visited the line, providing a chance for double headed large logo Type 3s! There was also the chance for double headed Railfreight Red class 20s. 37314 is seen basking in the baking hot sun having dragged the DMU set from Buckfastleigh |
